MINEHEAD STREET CHOIR

Hello and thanks for hitting the link : )

SINGING IN MINEHEAD

Minehead Street Choir sing regularly on Thursday evenings and welcome anyone who enjoys relaxed singing with the occasional harmony in a friendly inclusive setting with no auditions and lots of fun. 7 pm to 8.30 pm.

Our singing group offers a place to relax, just be yourself and share some wonderful modern and traditional songs from the last fifty years.

Here's a few examples :

Lou Reed (Perfect Day)
Blur (Tender)
Elbow (One Day Like This)
Joni Mitchell (Big Yellow Taxi)
Dougie Maclean (Caledonia)
Otis Redding (Dock of The Bay)
Bobby McFerrin (Don't Worry Be Happy)
Bob Marley (Three Little Birds)
U2 (With or Without you)
Mozart (Dona Nobis Pacem)
Carl Jenkins (Benedictus)
John Denver (Country Roads)
Sweet Honey In The Rock (Breaths)
Coldplay (Yellow)
Labi Siffre (Something Inside So Strong)
Leonard Cohen (Hallelujah)
James (Sit Down Next To Me)
Simon & Garfunkel
(59th Bridge Street Song)

No need to read music or anything like that. Our singing is from the heart, pop, soul, rock, reggae, indie, plus some folk classical and world music too.

pub

We also get together in the park and down on the seafront during the summer and welcome the general public to sing with us - all very relaxed.
The occasional pub and charity gig from time to time too.

park

We have been together since 2014. Over the years we have raised thousands of pounds for local and national charities and sung at many local and regional events with other choirs and community singers.

gig

If you would like to give us a try then just send me an email and I'll get back to you. Or just come along any Thursday evening at 7 pm. As of October 2023 we currently meet at the United Reformed Church Hall in Irnham Road but venues vary from time to time so please contact me to confirm venue before you set out. £5 a session unless money is tight in which case just pay what you can afford. Look forward to hearing from you very soon. Thanks for reading this.
